The songs I can't stop listening to 3/1/13

1. Phish - "Gotta Jibboo"
2. Zola Jesus - "Trust Me"
3. The Black Swans - "Portsmouth, Ohio"
4. Ferraby Lionheart - "Before We're Dead"
5. HEALTH - "Severin"
6. Antony & The Johnsons - "For Today I Am A Boy"
7. Waterdeep - "Not Looking Good"
8. Faith Hill - "This Kiss"
9. Tori Amos - "Agent Orange"

Yes, this list starts with Phish, because I am 17 years old in 1997. Fuck off. And Faith Hill, just because people who don't like that song are stupid.

Mama sing sing that ya gotta jibboo.
Papa sing gotta jibboo

Mama sing sing thatcha gotta jibboo
Gotta jibboo and keep on drinking, too.

Pure poetry. Here, watch Phish jam about absolutely nothing for ten minutes.

In the meantime I'll be here
Trust me.
I know that you're afraid but I'm here
Hanging on
Trust me.

Nobody's supposed to die
Three days before the Fourth of July
Especially while the sun's still in the sky...

Run faster than the day
Take away this skin and bone
I've got no home

[...]

You can be high
You can be low
Under tree over the world
I still believe there's time to live before we're dead

Loudness that gives way to a certain kind of loud beauty.

Just about the most beautiful, soulful song about being transgender I've ever heard.

It's not looking good for us
What made it through the flood is now covered in rust
It's not really working like I thought
But I can't take it back like something I wish I'd never bought

Admit it. This song is great.

And we end with one of Tori's little tiny short songs.
