I like how several times in the past few weeks an artist has come up twice in the same list. This time it's Katie Herzig, one of my newer favorites. She is lovely. The Jonny Lang song was in one of these mixes in December. Funny how that happens with 40,000 songs on your iTunes and counting.

Bunch of other lady singer/songwriting stuff here, including Ani and Dar Williams, who are essential to my music collection. And right in the middle of it, some hip-hop. Jenny & Tyler is just the cutest little Christian duo ever. Etc.

Ooh, Indigo Girls TWICE. The first song, "Shed Your Skin," I have so many memories of seeing that song done live in the 90s. Richard Barone is another highlight. And The Mountain Goats song is one of the most beautiful things you'll hear this week. Oh, and Margot & the Nuclear So and So's!

So I say this a lot, but awesome mix all around. The way the two hip-hop numbers flow into each other is partic nice. Oh, and all on Spotify this week, so just let it play.

Fabulous mix, but the last four songs are the real highlight. "Love Again" is one of my favorite things Run The Jewels has done so far. But nothing bad in there, except Cris Kirkwood from the Meat Puppets singing George Jones songs is weird.

No Titus Andronicus on the mix because that's not a song, it's a weird outtake from a mixtape, which has now shown up TWICE in these shuffles. Fuck it.

Oh, this mix is weird and amazing. Josh Hedlund kind of a dirty, gritty singer-songwriter type, followed by all 18 minutes of Arlo Guthrie's insanely wonderful "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." Chromatics, Dan Mangan, The Novel Ideas and Acrylics all beautiful. Depeche Mode and Frank Sinatra just being Depeche Mode and Frank Sinatra.
