iTunes Shuffle 1/29/16
1. Cris Kirkwood - "Grand Tour" (George Jones cover)
2. Thievery Corporation ft. Sleepy Wonder - "Sound The Alarm"
3. IAMX - "Volatile Times"
4. Amanda Palmer ft. The Young Punx - "Map Of Tasmania"
5. Titus Andronicus - "First Inaugural Address, Take Two"
6. Peter Bjorn and John - "Nothing To Worry About"
7. Run The Jewels ft. Gangsta Boo - "Love Again (Akinyele Back)"
8. Santigold - "God From The Machine"
9. Centro-matic - "Only In My Double Mind"
10. The Innocence Mission - "Tomorrow On The Runway"
Fabulous mix, but the last four songs are the real highlight. "Love Again" is one of my favorite things Run The Jewels has done so far. But nothing bad in there, except Cris Kirkwood from the Meat Puppets singing George Jones songs is weird.
No Titus Andronicus on the mix because that's not a song, it's a weird outtake from a mixtape, which has now shown up TWICE in these shuffles. Fuck it.

iTunes Shuffle 1/22/16
1. Josh Hedlund - "Thick Language" (live - Harrison house show)
2. Arlo Guthrie - "Alice's Restaurant Massacree"
3. Chromatics - "The River"
4. Chixdiggit! - "Found Love"
5. Dan Mangan - "Robots"
6. The Novel Ideas - "The Field"
7. Depeche Mode - "I Feel You"
8. Eminem - "No Apologies"
9. Acrylics - "Counting Sheep"
10. Frank Sinatra - "Almost Like Being In Love" (orig. sung by David Brooks and Marion Bell in Brigadoon)
Oh, this mix is weird and amazing. Josh Hedlund kind of a dirty, gritty singer-songwriter type, followed by all 18 minutes of Arlo Guthrie's insanely wonderful "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." Chromatics, Dan Mangan, The Novel Ideas and Acrylics all beautiful. Depeche Mode and Frank Sinatra just being Depeche Mode and Frank Sinatra.

iTunes Shuffle 1/15/16
1. Toy Selectah - "La Rivertona"
2. Brad Paisley - "Time Well Wasted"
3. M. Ward - "Post-War"
4. Lil Kim - "Dead Gal Walking"
5. Thee Oh Sees - "Devil Again"
6. The Beatles - "Revolution"
7. Dawes - "If You Let Me Be Your Anchor"
8. Ani DiFranco - "Promised Land"
9. Joni Haastrup - "Wake Up Your Mind"
10. Chixdiggit! - "The Highway Man" (Groovie Ghoulies cover)
Here's another all over the damn place mix. It starts with a Mexican DJ and an American commercial country star, so. M. Ward is lovely, as is Dawes. Ani DiFranco is one of my top 5 artists of all time, Joni Haastrup is Nigerian music from the late '70s, and Chixdiggit! is just fucking fun.

iTunes Shuffle 1/8/16
1. Katy Perry - "Tommie Sunshine's Megasix Smash-Up"
2. Buddy Holly and the Crickets - "Everyday"
3. Nick Miller - "Umbrella" (Rihanna cover)
4. Teedra Moses - "R U 4 Real" (Donnie Cash Dance Remix)
5. Katie Herzig - "Oh My Darlin" (acoustic live in studio)
6. The New Pornographers - "All The Things That Go To Make Heaven And Earth"
7. "I Know Him So Well" (from Chess: Original Broadway Cast recording, sung by Judy Kuhn & Marcia Mitzman)
8. Modeselektor - "Kill Bill (Vol. 4)"
9. Fleetwood Mac - "Rhiannon"
10. Wilco - "Impossible Germany"
Why listen to ONE Katy Perry song when you can listen to ALL OF THEM? That is what that first track is, basically. Nick Miller makes the Rihanna song into something completely different, and it's lovely.
Teedra Moses is an unsung R&B badass.
Katie Herzig and The New Pornographers are quite simply two of my favorites, as is Wilco.
And that song from Chess is one of musical theater's great moments. Etc.
