Ooh, fun, RANDOM old country to start things out. I love it when hidden gems like that pop up. Then we have two INCREDIBLE man-lady country/folk/rock duos, Broken Fences and Twilight Hotel. This mix is making me giddy so far.

The My Morning Jacket Muppets cover is something I just love. Tool is a favorite band, and on the whole other end of the spectrum, Dar Williams is one of my favorite humans and musicians of all time.

Denver is great country/folk kinda stuff, and then Yo La Tengo and Annuals are two MORE of my very favorites. Seriously. Maybe best mix ever?

This week's mix is just PRETTY. The drum solo from Rush (a total outlier) gives way to the beautiful harmonies of Elenowen. Red Wanting Blue is a serious highlight. I've had their stuff in my iTunes forever and never really listened. Nathan Angelo is wonderful, and my inner Christian teenager loves Jars Of Clay. Great mix, overall.

Hello, huge M83 song. Also, hello Ben Folds, I have everything the man has ever done, and he never comes up in these mixes, weird. The Matthew Sweet song is great, and I actually took the time to upload the live version that came up in my shuffle, because it really beats the ass of the studio version. Morning Benders = awesome. They are now called POP ETC, due to they had to change their name.

That all leads to Matthew Perryman Jones, who is just one of my favorite Men Who Sing Pretty Songs. He's just wonderful. Wow, halfway through the mix and there hasn't been a mediocre song yet. Etc.

Starting with Jamiroquai is kinda fun. Young Oceans is an example of the indie Christian music that ends up on my iTunes. I'm okay with it. Pixies, Lazyeyes, The Joy Formidable, all great. Very intense music this week!

The Anika cover is really cool and interesting if you know the original. Ani DiFranco is always welcome, glad I finally uploaded all my Ani to this hard drive.

Oh, and if you keep listening, I promise you won't be ready for how incredibly awesome Carolyn Malachi is. You need that in your life.
